Tuesday 16 October - Beaconsfield
Beaconsfield
It was some 6 years ago since we played this magnificent course and it attracted some  41 players and guests. Given the dry Summer, the course was in exceptional condition especially the greens, all of which proved a stern test for many.

However,Tim O'Donovan not only won the Dick Endacott Trophy but swept the prize board, playing off a handicap of 6, with a magnificent 38points. He also took one of the nearest the pin prizes on 16
th, hit the longest drive on 17th and was a member of the winning team. CHRISTMAS HAS COME EARLY IN THE O'DONOVAN HOUSEHOLD! Our President,Kim Harris was pipped into second on countback. Well done to both.

Also it would be remiss not to mention the hole in one at the short 5
th achieved by one of our Past Captains, Paul Green. It was reported that he knew that as soon as he struck the shot that it was greenbound and turned his back not seeing the ball drop in the hole! All present drank his health with the wine which he very kindly supplied to go with the afternoon lunch, a gesture most appreciated.

The catering was of a high standard with an exceptionally tasty rolling breakfast.

Carol Dixson-Smith brought members up to date with the Centenary arrangements. Be sure to put a note in your diary for Friday 15
th May 2020 at Drapers Hall in the City.

Finally many thanks to Adrian O'Connor for his excellent attention to detail with the prize fund and coping with the onerous duties of Officer of the Day. Also last but not least Dave Farndon for coming to lunch and dealing so expertly with the card marking.

A booking has been made for early September next year.
